Description
A self portrait of the artist in his studio one busy night.
That image is a composite and was made over the course of several days. I spent one evening taking photos of the milky way and some other outdoor shots illuminated by the available lights at night. I've always loved available light photography and have much more that I need to post! (Did you know that the night sky is blue also but speckled with stars?) The primary shot you see was taken a couple of nights later but the view, to the east, did not have much of interest in the sky (just a streaked portion of Orion) so I replaced the sky with part of a milky way shot (looking south) from the earlier night. the bright indoor light was just the lights I have inside but they appear bright enough to evoke the energy of creation going on inside. The little red dot in my hand is the light that comes on when I pressed the wireless remote shutter release which I like to think of as part of the magick, like a wand. We all make our worlds and if we are lucky we get to spend some time in them.
I digitized that entire building and used a stylized 3D model of it with a different view of the universe in an animated short film I made called "After Time" a couple of years ago. If you are interested you can watch it on YouTube at: https://youtu.be/AmcdDGB9DZI
